Lab Aide:

Acupath laboratories, Inc. operates a CLIA-approved, NYS-licensed, and CAP-accredited Diagnostics Division that includes Molecular Genetic and FISH testing. Acupath is a 24 hour/7 day a week facility.

Lab Aides are an essential part of the team of laboratory health care professionals. They assist the lab technical staff and pathologists in performing a variety of semi-skilled tasks and/or clerical duties that are critical to the diagnostic process in determining health and disease.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 / hour

Responsibilities:

• Prepares and processes patient specimens for analysis.
• Adheres to written internal and external quality control procedures in order to ensure the quality of all test results.
• Performs routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Loading and unloading automated processors.
• Organize case trays and slides.
• Identifying and reporting any issues with equipment or processes to senior lab personnel.
• Works with the team to ensure adequate reagent and supply inventory levels at all times.
• Following safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Uses Infection Control practices and procedures including, but not limited to, wearing gloves, goggles, protective masks and other safety equipment.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Previous experience in the clinical lab space preferred.

Hours: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
